Midland Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: MD) is excited to announce its summer exploration program for 2025. This initiative, carried out under the Strategic Alliance with SOQUEM Inc., will focus on uncovering the mineral potential in the Labrador Trough. Fieldwork is set to begin on June 23, with a helicopter-assisted team undertaking geochemical sampling of rocks and soils, alongside implementation of an OreVision® spectral induced polarization survey, designed to map subsurface mineralization.
Exploration Highlights
Key highlights from this year's exploration agenda include:
- Conducting follow-up evaluations of copper occurrences unearthed in 2024 at the Dunphy South project. Notably, these occurrences include copper grades reaching up to 3.73% Cu within altered intrusions of the Wakuach Suite.
- A comprehensive 40-kilometer OreVision® spectral induced polarization survey planned for July at the Nachicapau project, aimed at identifying deeper mineral targets.
- Further exploration of the hydrothermal system at the Nachicapau project which has previously yielded remarkably high grades in copper, silver, and gold samples, including values of 39.90% Cu and 308.00 g/t Ag.
Dunphy South Area Focus
The 2025 exploration efforts will notably assess the extent of copper showings identified in the previous year at the Dunphy South project. Midland and SOQUEM will be working to evaluate the mineralization potential of this region, which is characterized by chalcopyrite occurrences in altered mafic intrusions.
The geological survey from 2024 coupled with historical data has aided in defining clear exploration targets for 2025, whereby field teams will gather rock samples and conduct critical soil sampling in the area.
Nachicapau Area Exploration
Midland's exploration activities in 2025 will also continue at the Nachicapau project. This project encompasses an extensive hydrothermal system rich in copper, gold, and silver, which the company has been systematically evaluating over the past three years. The goal is to discover new mineralized zones that remain concealed under surface level.
The previous field activities revealed 15 significant copper-gold-silver showings, with the majority displaying distinct mineral alterations such as potassic and iron oxide patterns. Notable findings include mineralization grades with up to 39.90% Cu and 308.00 g/t Ag.
This coming year will see the implementation of a targeted OreVision® survey to delineate potential economic mineralization, alongside further lithogeochemical sampling to connect the dots between historical data and current findings.
Commitment to Quality Control
All rock and soil samples collected during the exploration activities are rigorously analyzed at Actlabs laboratories in Ancaster, Ontario. Advanced methods such as ICP-MS with four-acid digestion are employed, ensuring that the exploration programs meet industry-standard Quality Assurance/Quality Control protocols.
