Midland and SOQUEM Uncover High-Grade Mineralization
Midland Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: MD), in collaboration with SOQUEM Inc., has revealed the discovery of new mineralized occurrences at the Nachicapau project. Building on previous findings from the last two years, this latest exploration effort highlights the presence of high-grade copper-gold-silver mineralized horizons and veins that cover a significant surface area.
Highlights from the Recent Discovery
The exploration conducted in 2024 has led to several noteworthy discoveries:
- 11 new Cu-Au-Ag occurrences have been identified, linked to digenite, bornite, and malachite veins.
- A total of 38 samples were collected, with 30 samples showing grades above 0.1% Cu; among these, 15 samples exceeded 1% Cu, including one that reached an impressive 39.90% Cu.
- New mineralized veins were found, particularly located 10 km southeast of the main zone, with grades up to 5.22% Cu, 13.8 g/t Ag, and 0.65 g/t Au.
- Gold mineralization was characterized by anomalous values (greater than 0.10 g/t Au) in 10 samples, with the highest recorded at 1.51 g/t Au.
- A drone-supported magnetic survey covering 768.2 km was completed to improve the understanding of the area's structure.
Geochemical Sampling and Analysis
In early summer, a geochemical sampling campaign commenced, resulting in the collection of 231 rock samples from the Nachicapau property. The findings included numerous copper-bearing veins along with digenite, bornite, and malachite pods, showcasing significant mineralization. The geochemical analysis indicated the presence of high-grade minerals, suggesting a strong mineral system in the region.
Future Exploration Strategy
These findings position the Nachicapau project as a crucial exploration target within the Labrador Trough. In 2025, the exploration strategy will broaden, concentrating on defining drilling targets to evaluate depth potential and further expand the mineralized footprint established during the 2024 fieldwork.
Quality Control and Analytical Methods
All rock and soil samples are subjected to thorough analysis at Actlabs laboratories in Ancaster, Ontario. The process uses ICP-MS with four-acid digestion for metal analysis and standard fire assay for gold evaluation. Qualified Persons oversee the exploration programs, ensuring compliance with industry best practices through a comprehensive Quality Assurance/Quality Control program that includes regular use of standards and blanks.
About the Strategic Alliance with SOQUEM
The partnership between Midland and SOQUEM is dedicated to exploring the significant potential for gold and strategic minerals in the largely uncharted regions of the Labrador Trough. This Strategic Alliance plans to invest up to $5 million over the next four years, laying a solid foundation for ongoing exploration and development activities in the area.
Exploration and Development Objectives
In 2024, the Alliance allocated a joint budget of $1 million for exploration in the Labrador Trough, continuing to assess and expand the discovery potential highlighted by earlier campaigns. The targeted area encompasses key geological zones that stretch across a considerable distance within the Trough.
About Midland Exploration
Midland is committed to tapping into Quebec's mineral potential to discover new world-class deposits of gold and critical metals. The company actively pursues partnerships with reputable organizations to facilitate exploration and rapidly grow its project portfolio.
