Homestead Capital Welcomes Max Nightingale for Strategic Growth

Homestead Capital USA LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Max Nightingale as managing director and head of strategic growth. With this significant role, Nightingale will spearhead the firm’s initiatives to broaden its investment footprint across the U.S. agricultural landscape, reinforcing its commitment to support farmers and agribusinesses.

Based in San Francisco, Homestead Capital plays a crucial role in managing over $1.6 billion in equity and credit assets for clients around the globe. These clients include pension funds, endowments, foundations, insurance firms, and family offices, all of whom look to Homestead for strategic agricultural investments.

Nightingale's impressive career spans over two decades in international agriculture. His extensive experience includes leading diverse investment portfolios in farming and agribusiness across numerous countries. Previously, he held a pivotal role as head of agriculture at Sixth Street, a global asset management firm, where he managed investment strategies for a variety of farm and processing operations.

His past experiences also include significant contributions as a partner at International Farming Corporation, LLC, guiding their efforts in acquiring substantial farmland and directing large agricultural projects in both the U.S. and Australia. This wealth of knowledge and leadership experience positions him well for his new role at Homestead.

"Homestead is poised for incredible growth as the agricultural sector evolves, and we are excited to have Max join our team," commented Patrick Trainor, president of Homestead Capital. "His deep industry insights and expertise will enhance our capabilities and drive our mission forward."

Having grown up on a family farm in South Africa, Nightingale’s journey in agriculture began early. He launched his professional career with Unitrans Africa, the continent's largest agricultural services provider. He further enriched his knowledge by earning a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and horticulture from Stellenbosch University, followed by an MBA from the HEC Paris Business School.

Homestead Capital boasts a robust team of 23 professionals and operates in key agricultural regions across the U.S., including the Pacific, Pacific Northwest, Mountain West, Delta, and Midwest. The firm focuses on collaborating with small and mid-sized farmers to provide innovative capital solutions, aiming to increase their profitability and sustainability. Homestead operates as a majority employee-owned entity, co-led by co-founders Daniel Little and Gabe Santos.
