Mary Vitug's Impressive Background
With over 30 years in capital markets, Ms. Vitug offers a wealth of knowledge and experience. Her career includes 24 years at Scotiabank, where she served as a Managing Director in Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets. Throughout her time at Scotiabank, Mary led numerous initial public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, and equity financings, emphasizing real estate, consumer and retail sectors, as well as industrial and financial institutions.
For two decades, she was integral to Scotiabank’s Equity Liability Committee, where she evaluated risks and allocated capital for global financings, solidifying her role as a pivotal figure in financial strategies.
Current Roles and Leadership
Mary is presently a Director at StorageVault Canada Inc., a Trustee for Slate Grocery REIT, and an Advisor at Nicola Wealth. Her previous experience includes over a decade on the Board of VersaFi (formerly WCM), where she served as Board Chair. Known for her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, she has made meaningful contributions to fostering a diverse environment in her professional engagements.
Educational Qualifications
Ms. Vitug is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Toronto along with a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management. Her extensive education underpins her qualifications and abilities in financial leadership.
