Mainz Biomed Prepares for Interim Update on eAArly DETECT 2
Company plans to share an interim update by the end of summer 2025.
Top-tier results are expected in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the study poised to support the initiation of a pivotal trial in the U.S. by 2026.
BERKELEY, Calif. and MAINZ, Germany — Mainz Biomed N.V. (NASDAQ: MYNZ), a leader in molecular genetic diagnostics focused on early cancer detection, recently highlighted its plan to provide an interim readout of its eAArly DETECT 2 feasibility study scheduled for later in the summer of 2025. This pivotal study assesses the Company’s advanced colorectal cancer (CRC) screening test, integrating Mainz Biomed's proprietary mRNA biomarkers alongside an AI-enhanced algorithm and a FIT test, aiming to validate previous feasibility results and transition from CRC screening to proactive cancer prevention.
The eAArly DETECT 2 study is on track to complete patient enrollment in the latter half of 2025. Mainz Biomed is targeting fourth-quarter 2025 for the announcement of top-line results. Drawing from the data collected, the Company aims to finalize its protocols for ReconAAsense, the pivotal U.S. study scheduled to commence in 2026. This next-gen CRC and adenomatous polyp (APL) test is not only set to accurately identify cancerous lesions but also aims to prevent disease through early detection.
Guido Baechler, the Chief Executive Officer of Mainz Biomed, expressed enthusiasm about the progress being made, stating, "We are thrilled about the advancements within the eAArly DETECT 2 project and look forward to providing updates to our partners and shareholders by the end of the summer." He emphasized the clinical trial's significant implications for patients and medical professionals, reinforcing the Company’s commitment to reducing colorectal cancer incidence and mortality through precise detection of advanced precancerous lesions and early-stage colorectal cancer.
The study will assess five novel gene expression biomarkers acquired from Sherbrooke University in 2022, which have shown exceptional capabilities in differentiating advanced adenomas—curable precancerous growths—and treatable early-stage CRC. The eAArly DETECT 2 study will further validate these mRNA biomarkers when combined with Mainz’s exclusive algorithm, enhancing product specifications and increasing sensitivity and specificity rates for early-stage CRC diagnosis.
