Did MRK start off with the same number of shares when it was the same place as BMSN? No, Merck has done stock splits etc.  Merck is supported by ACTUAL revenue and tangible assets. BMSN has some patents but no real tangible assets to speak of and is having a hard time rubbing two nickles together. BTW you can buy 33.3 shares of BMSN with two nickles. 

You can dream about BMSN being like Merck but that's like you dreaming about George Clooney coming over to your house with a nice bottle of Italian wine. Aint going to ever happen!
