NEW YORK - Disgraced politicians Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer fell short in their comeback bids on Tuesday in this city's elections.

Weiner, a former congressman who saw his lead vanish after news that his penchant for texting women lewd pictures of himself had not ended, was last among the major candidates in the race for New York City mayor with 5 percent in early results.
