Since they are defaulting to state law, this is the most recent California law that I could find

There's enough quotes in there to go toe to toe on the scam board for weeks. Even as a
Schedule 1, California isn't concerned about being "preempted by federal law." Of course the schedule 1 classification is going to die a fast death.
