CDOC.. Nautikaris has supplied a complete cable joint monitoring sytem to VSMC. The system includes a Tug and Anchor Management System (TMS) capable of taking in data of multiple tugs to be able to position the anchors on very precise positions in a maze of already installed cables and pipelines. In addition to that, two Real Time 3D Echoscope Sonar Heads are used to monitor the exact locations of the Touch Down Points of the two cables that need to be joined together. These points are transmitted to the TMS where an authomatic distance control function is monitoring if these points are not to close to the barge. The Real Time 3D Echoscope Sonar is also used to create an as laid survey once the cable joint is back on the seabed.
