It's quite simple, for a contract to be valid there must be consideration. Something of value must pass from the purchaser to the vendor. This must happen before the contract is executed.
Now all longs are waiting to find out what we will get. I believe it will be at least a special dividend which might therefore raise the share price well above the level of the original proposed special dividend, which was going to be 20cents.
If it is the case that the share price rises substantially above that price that we might have been informed that we will get as a special dividend, I will happily sell my shares for the higher price.
It was SRGE's plan all the way along to sell the mining properties and pay shareholders a special (and substantial) dividend.
