In the UK two companies took one website to court to get the IP addresses of posters who had been making libellous remarks against their companies and directors as well.
On ihub, Clean Coal Technologies (CCTC) took the moderator of the board to court over his posts over a perioud of four years or so. In his out of court settlement, he agreed to stop posting on the CCTC board. He owned shares in a rival clean coal company.
People don't realise that they are still liable for ANY remarks they make in a public forum.
