Governor Rendell served two terms as governor of Pennsylvania from 2003-2011. Prior to serving as chief executive of the nation's sixth most populous state, he served as Mayor of Philadelphia from 1992-2000, during which time he delivered five consecutive budget surpluses and received accolades for what The New York Times called "the most stunning turnaround in recent urban history." Governor Rendell was also elected and served as District Attorney of Philadelphia for two terms from 1978-1985.
