New body to replace DGCA in 2 years The Union Cabinet Thursday cleared a proposal to replace the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) with an autonomous regulator called Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on the lines of the powerful American Federal Aviation Administration.
