I have a %18 W/I in three wells that were completed by the open hole method. You drill down to the producing formation top, case and cement the hole,continue on down in the formation with a chisel tool from a completion rig, then swab the hole. We used this method because the few feet of oil was setting on top of a ocean of water. We were successful. This was a sandstone formation. Still producing after 7 years, a little water.
