Not really, the placing of a sell order at a higher level is a myth, also it isn't legal for a broker to borrow shares in a non margined account, but they do it anyhow.
If you really believe in a company, buying helps them to dig their own grave.
IMO - a lot of what we are seeing with GOSY is likely to be money laundering, recently we've seen big sells into the bid that turn up as shorts, other things that just don't seem to make sense. The company has disclosed that it has information concerning funds that were wired in from Nigeria to establish a "PR" company that approached GeckoSystems and was involved with them briefly. This is just one of the incidents that the company has asked FINRA and ICE to look into.
What it will take to deal effectively with the shorts is a dividend or uplisting so that certs must be accounted for. IMO - we'll see both with GOSY.
