I read that and wondered at their strategy too! They've looked good financially for the past couple of years because of their sales of some divisions and their consolidation of resources. With their patent cliff continuing - even though celebrex patent exp has been pushed out a little - and their serious cutbacks to r&d - they're going to have to enter serious pipeline acquisition mode to stay relevant. Maybe that is the method behind their madness...Organizing, consolidating, getting ready to acquire from a more solid and streamlined position?
