Proprietary and Intellectual Property Rights are only purchased when another Company or Corporation Buy the Company that has developed the Technology and as in this case hold "Patents".
Company's and Corporations will license another "Provider" to use their Technology for a defined period of time with possible renewals and for a "FEE" agreed upon between the two Organizations.
Look at the Problem VONAGE was successfully litigated by VERIZON and SPRINT, 9 patent violations by VONAGE in total an their pay out to them is now over 600Million $
The USA Market is what I think McHenry has the difficulty with. The Company can only credit what they are utilizing e.g. we have 3G or Now have 4G
