Whether they were his own personal shares or the companies shares doesn't matter. He is the owner so he had to sell them either way. And either way it doesn't matter. He didn't sell a huge amount. So who cares if he sold some shares to use the money for the company or otherwise? We all should have back then and a lot of people did as well. Some sold a lot more than him. Big deal.
