Portland ranked best U.S. beer city by CNN .

PORTLAND – CNN has confirmed that Portland is the best beer town in the U.S.A. – not that it’s necessarily news to Portlanders.

The network released their eight best beer cities, Portland was followed by San Francisco and San Diego.

They cited the fact we have more breweries (52) than any city in the world. And that Oregon is among the states with laws that allow small brewers to compete alongside larger corporations. Portland also was celebrated for its many festivals, like the Oregon Brewer's Festival, the Portland International Beer Festival, and Portland Beer Week.
