The only way I could see this happening is if there was something in the contract stating that certain metrics had to be reached else ownership would revert back to JC. This or possibly that something happened which would act to nullify the contract. Without knowing exactly what was in the whole contract, it's hard to know for sure. Regardless, I doubt that he could retake own ship without satisfying current shareholders either by buying back the shares or keeping the Company public. I'm not a lawyer so what do I know?
