It's should be common sense that all parties involved in a business deal or transaction require some level of incentives off the final sale of product.  Maybe just salary, maybe a bonus, maybe royalties, maybe shares, maybe stock  options, etc.  It's just a matter of how to structure those incentives so everyone in line works hard and gets their due and nobody has the incentive to upset the apple cart.
