Well, the decision came after Jobs passed, so that might fit in perfectly.  I remember when Apple was held in great disdain by many in the IT community.  That all ended when the IPhone hit the market.

I'm not sure why they dropped ADNC, I guess they thought they could save a few bucks by doing things in house.  From what I can see ADNC is the class of that field.
