If I was a subject matter expert in the field I had an a large investment and offered my services for  free but was not taken up on it then I would question insider agenda.  I can understand why that would be concerning.  We have one shareholder allowed to help but without a 30 +/-  year background in the oil business but an SME and shareholder who volunteer's services is turned away?   What does that look like on the surface?  Favortism? Agenda? Mistrust? Coincidence?  Who knows but I still question why your services haven't been called upon when volunteer'd and especially when cash flow seems to be non-existent.
