| GrafTech International Ltd. (GTI) is a manufacturer and provider of synthetic and natural graphite and carbon-based products. The Company operates in two segments: Industrial Materials and Engineered Solutions. Its Industrial Materials segment includes graphite electrodes, refractory products and needle coke products, and primarily serves the steel industry. Its Engineered Solutions segment includes advanced graphite materials and natural graphite products, and provides primary and specialty products to the electronics, industrial, energy, transportation and defense markets. It also produces needle coke products. The Company also manufactures carbon, graphite and semi-graphite refractory products. As of December 31, 2011, it manufactures its products in 19 manufacturing facilities. On October 30, 2011, the Company purchased all the assets of Fiber Materials, Inc. On February 9, 2011, it purchased all the assets of Micron Research Corporation. |
