I still agree with your overall picture of 'healthcare' culture these days, esp since most doctors are owned by larger entities now.
Example: the group of internists my family goes to, I learned, are the *last* independent group of internists in the entire Portland,OR metropolitan area. Every other group is affiliated with a larger system, which are quite often in turn owned by private equity or some other entity, and have to work for the *system's* benefit, according to the *system's* rules and process, rather than doing what they independently think is right for a particular patient. A sad end to the healthcare culture in this country.
