In December of 2012, Amarantus Bioscience Inc. acquired the intellectual property rights to NuroPro Diagnostic Blood Test Platform from Power3 Medical Products. NuroPro is the name associated with a biomarker discovery program capable of identifying protein markers in the blood that are differentially expressed in certain disease states. NuroPro has achieved Proof of Concept in a number of indications including:
- Parkinson's disease
- Alzheimer's disease
- ALS
- Neuromuscular disease
- Breast Cancer
- Chronic Myelogenous Lukemia
The NuroPro Blood Test is Amarantus’ diagnostic platform for the early detection of neurodegenerative diseases. It is being developed as a tool to assist physicians to more accurately diagnose disease and monitor progression. The platform involves monitoring the concentration of 57 protein markers in blood serum identified to be linked to neurodegeneration in order to accurately detect and distinguish between Alzheimer’s disease, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), and Parkinson’s disease.
