If LL makes all ICI's better, why wouldn't BigPharmaCo want to own that revenue stream, regardless of let's say if Merck were the partner/owner and their Keytruda goes off patent?
Other pharmas will be forced to test their ICI's if BigPharmaCo locks up LL, as in:
"Our ICI is proven to work better since our own LL turns cold tumors hot, so buy our ICI or take your chances with your life while the other guys play catch up."
If the other pharmas prove it works with their ICI, well then moolah still flows to the BP that locked up CYDY.
First mover advantage.
