I never understood why Dr Jay decided against MDR HIV.
The monthly combo of cabotegravir and rilpivirine has a very low resistance rate. It would be a dwindling patient population as more HIV patients switch over to that combo. That's why the advisors to Cytodyn wanted to look at it as an anti-inflammatory in HIV. Anti-inflammation in HIV is a much less pressing issue than cancer and there may not have been any other trials specifically targeting that so it might be an uphill battle to get approval.
