Rawnoc: You pointed out something that is a point of confusion to me.

"Even as residue accumulates, the inside of Processor #2 stays extremely clean, with little to no petcoke stuck to the walls."

So what is the need for the third kiln?

He also said:

  • the main reactor in Processor #2 accumulates residue until the feed has to be stopped and the reactor emptied, resulting in downtime.

  • The solution to this problem was to add a third, half-sized kiln to condition and continuously extract the residue from the processor in real time. So, Processor #3 is now a 3-kiln machine.

  • So which is it?  Little or no petcoke or enough petcoke to require a third kiln? The two stories do not jive. We do not know how often the system must be brought down.

In either case, P3 should have the residue buildup and shutdown issue resolved.

    We hope.
