From my days as a sales weenie for tech cos., conferences were where/when big announcements were often made. So to answer your question below, maybe not.
Now, a potential cure for cancer in and of itself is a big announcement, but they've already put the headline out about the multiple survivors in recent months, so it's not strictly "new" news. There's the data to backfill the headlines that folks will want to see, but would that be enough to draw Dr. J overseas (aside from checking out the Hofbrauhaus)?
