Thank you so much for sharing this article. Over 30 years ago I did graduate-level research almost exactly like this using rat fetal stem cells and transplanted them in ablated regions of the auditory system of deaf adult rats. We were able to show.C-fos expression in these rats and a rejuvenation of activity in these area areas where it previously activity did not exist.
I also worked briefly on similar techniques in paralyzed rats using l-dopa to regain motor activity.
Didn’t think back then it would take 30 years, but I’m glad to see that kind of research has made it its way to humans.
