Some cancer /tumor cells may not express CCR5 , we looking for , and as long patient express CCR5 in the surrounding tumor microenvironment , including immune cells , it is ok.
I believe I read long time ago only about 20% of tumor cells express CCR5.
We know Dr Pestell excluded these patients , this is why he removed our very first patient enrolled in TNBC trial,
but from Dr Patterson we learned later it was not necessary , as they will respond to treatment the same way.
I am not sure if this what happened with you.
