It wasn’t the 404 message on a partner page that got my attention, it was the poster claiming there were other pages live that weren’t public yet, i.e. not part of the site map.
Not sure how he found those pages. Occam’s Razor says he’s full of **** but, as Misui pointed out, the same guy predicted the last PR and guessed the exact volume we ended up seeing.
He simply does not know how URLs are structured. He was assuming that if he puts in something random after a backslash at the site and it shows a 404 then the page must be hidden. When it means that the page doesn't exist. Way back in the day I used to put in interesting things after a backslash just to find actual hidden sections. In one case /passwords brought up a plaintext copy of all usernames and passwords for the site. Some site admins had little regard for security back then.
