This bet seems even more reckless given GSK's recent substantial share buyback. Clearly, the decision makers at Citadel expect news that will at least temporarily sink GSK's sp.

There must be several potential calamities that could swiftly sink GSK's sp, but given my superficial knowledge of GSK's current business conditions, I can only think of one -- if GSK were to announce a massive investment in a small biotech currently trading at 22 cents, the C-suite at Citadel would likely be popping the champaign corks.
