As I recall Paterson was trying to patent the mechanism, not the medicine, and that was ruled against. Be like you invented a combustion engine and I tried to patent combustion.

As far as NIH funding goes, we were never on the inside there in the NP years and I always viewed it as Big Pharma developing new medicines to compete and if they were successful they could hold off until their current drug ran its economic life. I don't think that will effect us and may even help us get put into play.
