I’ve been in negotiations similar to this but it’s been in the case of a company merging or buying another. That being said, you sign an NDA when you enter discussions on a partnership or a friendly take over . You have a timeframe where you have exclusive rights , in this case probably a large investment in Cytodyn to continue on its path. So outside communications comes to a halt and it’s similar to a quiet period . So when they pulled out of the presentation that was a pretty interesting sign to me. The deals I’ve been involved in are usually a 90 day exclusivity. You can extend those agreements if you are close to an agreement.
My guess is they had loose ends to tie up and it exceeded their end of January hint. Obviously I’m speculating here but just going by the ‘symptoms” we are seeing …
