Work in Santa Monica...
I stayed at an airbnb right next to the pier in Santa Monica literally on the beach for a few days in late October when I was in town to see David Gilmour at the Hollywood Bowl. And I used to be a professional forester on the East Coast with some fire knowledge and the last thing I was thinking is a fire could make it all the way to the ocean in LA. This is no longer a "fluke". Southern California is going to need to spend a lot of money to mitigate fire risks and be fully prepared when something sparks. You feel for the people who not only lost their house but also had their insurance cancelled a few months back.
