There may have been early results from the follow-up murine study. Those results could have been either better or worse than the earlier study. They would certainly be preliminary results, and if they were better it would be wise to wait before announcing them.
Don't forget that Dr. Jay told us that an academic institution was so interested in the results of the follow-up studies -- and the possibility that Leron shrinks liver fibrosis no matter what causes the fibrosis -- that the institution could offer to fund a Pulmonary Fibrosis study. That too might already be being discussed.
All speculation. So we don't know if this withdrawal is a good thing, a bad thing, or an incidental thing. But very exciting possibilities come into play.
