FYI, the Long-Term Capital Gains Tax rate (for stocks, etc. held more than one year) hasn't changed. It's exactly the same under both Biden and Trump.
The rates are 0%, 15%, and 20%, plus a 3.8% medicare tax at the highest levels. That means the highest long-term capital gains tax rate you might pay is 20% + 3.8% = 23.8%.
Short-term capital gains (for stocks, etc. held less than one year) are taxed the same as ordinary earned income (e.g. from jobs/work). This rate can be as high as 37%.
Quite a few states also have their own capital gains taxes.
