REPORT: The Biden administration invested $7.5 billion into EV charging & produced just *8* charging stations over 4 years.
The Department of Transportation led by Pete Buttigieg is being mocked for the massive failure.
For comparison, a Tesla Supercharger costs less than $50,000 per charger meaning the company could build a 10-stall Supercharger station for less than $500,000 (Electrek).
The EV charging station plan was written in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and allocated $7.5B for EV charging, with $5B dedicated to building a charging network along US highways.
During a previous interview on CBS News, Buttigieg tried defending the disaster, saying it would take a while to hit their goal of 500,000 chargers.
