So now you have me thinking. Traditionally HIV regimens are a triple therapy combination because HIV replication is so tricky and so quick and fraught with mutations. Hence, the traditional “cocktail” of medicines which involves three anti-retroviral therapies. ARV’s. ViiV Has been trying to subvert Gilead dominance on ARV therapy where viread (Gilead) is used as As the cornerstone of ART treatment.
Duel therapy, Which uses an integrate inhibitor, ie dolutegravir, And another anti-retroviral takes viread Out of the equation..
I’d like to know who owns both bmabs. If this potential cure for HIV could involve LL, the bmabs (Whose ownership I don’t know yet) And another ARV that possibly is owned by ViiV (lamividine? But I don’t like the SE profile) Then this makes the appointment of Dr. LATA even more interesting.
But clinical trials, using most of these ViiV Products, bmabs, and LL would marginalize Gilead.
This makes me think that ViiV Could be posturing for the HIV cure market; A Savage move. The rest of the indications (cancer, inflammation etc.) are very rich gravy, but to knock Gilead out with an HIV cure, With no Gilead medications, would be incredibly savage.
Holy shit. This has suddenly gotten Even more interesting.
