Since 2014, the NICHD has funded the Human Placenta Project (HPP) aimed at generating an improved understanding of human placental biology and developing innovative tools and approaches for real-time assessment of the placenta across gestation.

Rather, it's really how pregnancy sets the foundation for a lifetime of well-being. So that brings us to the human side of the project or the HPP. The HPP was designed to noninvasively and in real time determine what is a typically developing placenta doing and what is an atypically developing placenta doing, and how can you best monitor that, because although you can examine a placenta, it's only accessible after the baby has been born. So, how can you prospectively identify or distinguish between pregnancies that are going well and those that are not going well and perhaps target management accordingly? "

It's always asked when NIH is going to fund an LC trial, etc..
NICD is the federal agency to really be involved with on multiple, significant treatments.
Now that we have FcRn & resevoir surprise news, federal NICD is not to be overlooked.
