I ran into the same situation a few years back with a different stock. The CEO died and the company folded overnight with no ability to sell shares for a Capital Loss here in Canada. My bank (TD), had a provision where I could “sell” my shares to the bank for $1.00 to enable the write off, and clear . I haven’t done it yet for GNBT, and the shares are still showing in my cash trading account at $0.00. I may do it for 2024 taxes to offset gains I will make on Silver Bullion that I may sell soon. Hard to pull the trigger - as I continue to have hope this may turn around some day. Sitting at a loss of $72K with this stock .. hard pill to swallow. Still extremely bitter at being duped by Joe and team.
