Listing requirements vary by exchange. For example, the Nasdaq requires a stock's price to not close below $1.00 for 30 consecutive trading days.
When a stock moves from the over-the-counter (OTC) markets to a significant exchange, it's called an uplisting. Trading on a standard exchange like the NYSE or Nasdaq usually means more trading volume, less volatility, and more liquidity.
