The Sister Shelle is back underway after I think four nights docked in False Pass, Alaska but now they are in the Bering Sea and open water to Nome. The longest leg of the trip and they will be out of sight of land for the next 3 days if they take the direct route north to Nome harbor.
Image just out of False Pass - making 7 knots - close to top speed of 8 knots. This image 0230Zulu Thursday or 2130 hours CDT Wednesday or 9 30 pm Chicago Time.
This wider show shows the Bering Sea from False Pass to Nome. Lots of open water to transit. I hope there is an experienced Bering Sea mariner or two or three onboard
And finally....
