I have found a vessel named the "Sister Shelle" moving north along the Washington coast this Wednesday evening, 6-26-2024. The classification says it's a pleasure boat but i suspect it's actually the Thompson clan's catamaran gold dredge named "The Sister Shelle" . it was launched a year ago in the Sacramento River - and it looks l like is just now making the move north tothe Nome gold dredging grounds - a long open ocean voyage liies ahead.
The grapic shows the location of the boat and speed and course - it's moving at 6.9 knots on heading of 351 degrees. It was off Tillamook Oregon last evening . 6.9 knots is pretty slow so the journey to Nome waters will take a couple of weeks.
Will again caution - can't comfirm this is the Thompson boys' dredge .It would be a coincidence if another northbound boat was named the Sister Shelle but not impossible Must be some silent partners in on the venture.
Location of the boat is the concentric circles north of the mouth of the Columbia River at Astoria. I estimate about 3000 statue miles to Nome . At 7 knots or 8 mpth that's about two full weeks of sailing night and day. Quite a serious shake down cruise .Better take the inland passage and stay near shore.
