Well they finally got around to cleaning up all the lead after how many decades of knowing that it was bad. They've known merc is dangerous for just as long. Just harder to clean up. We need a huge ad campaign to get the merc out like they did with lead. Once the public gets behind it, it will be like a snowball rolling downhill.
