biloxi, i agree that it likely to be something very underhanded if pharma gets their mitts on it!
I don't know if they'll shelve it unless it was a 'collective' buyout by a group of them. But, as with many 'new' drugs, most folks won't be able to afford it!
Somebody here made a comment that insurance or Medicare would pay for it. Ummm... now, that is likely to be true, but please remind me - who pays for insurance and Medicare, Medicaid, etc.
