Personally, I wouldn't put too much faith in 'what Dalton told you', he's said many things, and I struggle to think of a single thing that subsequently materialized.

I don't expect Dalton to merge his private companies: no business licenses, no sales tax registrations, and no taxes paid in state for many years. Periodic Reports are the only filings. These are facts that are easy to verify.
