IMO the focus on black-owned makes complete sense because it's all about past black history, -blacks being kept as slaves, having fewer financial and other opportunities to better themselves (compared to whites, etc. etc.). Many of those aspects still continue in black communities today.
So, hoping to change the lives of blacks and the less privileged for the better, people like Dalton are taking pride in having a successful black-owned business, or starting a black-owned stock exchange like the Dream Exchange and moving on (successfully) from those wrongs. It's about centuries of being the underdog and now taking pride in their success. What's wrong with that???
Try to put yourself in their shoes, with their long history, and maybe you will understand it better.
